This newly completed deck in Issaquah, WA, is the perfect example of modern outdoor living with its stylish design and thoughtful integration of space and functionality. Spanning 20×16 feet, this deck features a high-quality composite decking that requires minimal maintenance. This was really important for our homeowners. The design incorporates composite railings, enhancing safety without sacrificing style.

One of the project’s key elements is the shaded space underneath the deck. Because the yard is west-facing, we wanted to get creative with the space to help protect the homeowners and their furniture from the hot sun.  The usable outdoor living space is perfect for all weather conditions. The support posts and beams are wrapped in white PVC, which provides structural integrity while adding a clean, polished look that complements the home’s exterior.

Directly beneath the deck is a beautifully laid stone patio, creating a shaded sitting area that is both inviting and practical. This space is ideal for gatherings or quiet relaxation, shielded from the sun and rain, making it usable throughout the year. The centerpiece of the patio area is a fire pit, which serves as a focal point and a cozy source of warmth during cooler evenings.
