Project Description
At Olympic Decks in Seattle, we recently had the opportunity to completely transform an outdoor space in Lake Forest Park, WA, through an extensive deck resurfacing project. The original deck was not in good shape. Its foundational supports were compromised by rot and wear, which compromised both safety and aesthetics.
The first step in our process was a thorough removal of the old deck structure. This wasn’t just about stripping away the surface; we needed to dig down to the foundational elements. During the removal, we discovered significant rot, which confirmed the necessity of our comprehensive approach to not only replace the surface but also reinforce the structure underneath.
We opted for a high-quality composite decking material for the new surface. Composite was an ideal choice because of its durability, low maintenance requirements, and stylish appeal. It’s designed to withstand the Pacific Northwest’s weather without the frequent upkeep that traditional wood decks require.
An exciting addition to this project was the creation of under-deck storage. This area provides a practical solution for outdoor storage needs, effectively utilizing the space that is often overlooked. It’s perfect for storing garden tools, outdoor furniture during the off-season, and other items that benefit from easy access yet protective storage.
By choosing Olympic Decks, homeowners can now enjoy a rejuvenated deck that not only enhances their outdoor living experience but also adds value to their home with durable materials and smart, functional upgrades like the under-deck storage. Whether you’re looking to replace an old deck or considering an upgrade with added features, we’re here to help you achieve your vision with expert craftsmanship and quality materials.
