Large upper-level deck with sleek cable railings and underdeck hot tub space in Lake Forest, WA

Building this deck in Lake Forest was an exciting project for us at Olympic Decks. We designed a spacious 32×16 foot deck, focusing on design and functionality to enhance the outdoor living space for our client.

The construction began by setting up a strong, durable frame to support the composite decking. Composite materials are fantastic because they offer the beauty of wood without the maintenance. They don’t warp, splinter, or need staining, making them a perfect choice for families who enjoy spending a lot of time outdoors.

One of the key features of this project was the underdeck waterproofing. We used a rain escape system, which effectively channels water away from the deck, preventing any damage from moisture. This system allows the space under the deck to remain dry, making it usable even during rainy weather.

To finish the ceiling of the underdeck space, we installed a vinyl soffit, which not only looks clean and polished but is also very easy to maintain. The white color brightens the area underneath, making it a welcoming space for additional outdoor activities or storage.

For the railings, we chose a cable system that provides safety and durability with a sleek, modern look. The cables are thin enough not to obstruct views but strong enough to ensure safety. This type of railing adds an elegant touch while maximizing the scenic view from the deck.
